For me, painting is the process of defining, or redefining the world around
me. I am always intrigued by the complexities and changes that light
casts on nature and architecture.
I was born in Belgium and have lived in California for nearly thirty years
now. Growing up in a creative environment, my father, Jean-Luc Beghin,
showed me many ways to express myself visually. I
studied fine arts in college and went on to receive an MFA from CSULB. Ever
since, I have had a great interest in figure and landscape painting - the
latter having a profound influence on my ongoing series of “Urban Landscapes”, which
is presented on this website.
My paintings have been collected by numerous individuals ranging from New
York Times writer Michael Janofsky to United States Senator John Edwards. The
site presented here shows only a selection of the work I’ve done and
sold and will be updated with new paintings on an on-going basis. Feel
free to contact me should you have any questions or comments regarding this
website. Enjoy!
